to use the download link you have to log in into the forum. Any other problems?

the Download runs well in about 2 minutes by more then 5 MBits per sec. Lower transferrate might causes a fail. Download is quicker at late evening, might be not that much traffiic.

Now I got a 640MB file, but I can't open it, can't expand it with 7-Zip, and got no idea to work with, because there is no filename extension that tells me what programm to use.

Someone says the filename extension was .rar, but all other of my files.rar will expand, this won't.

Once awhile ago I told Bernd about, but got no answer right now. I use the older Ostfront insteat.

Try WinRar to expand. Older savegames should work with the new version, because there are no big scenario changes.

leider bricht der Download reproduzierbar nach etwa 220 bis 260 MB ab. Ein Bekannter von mir berichtet von demselben Problem. Gibt es vielleicht die Möglichkeit den Mod woanders hochzuladen? Oder in mehreren kleinen Teilen?

Ich habe den Download vorerst deaktiviert, bis wir da eine zufriedenstellende Lösung gefunden haben.
Es wird dran gearbeitet, ich sage Bescheid, wenn eine Lösung vorliegt.

I have deactivated the download for the time being, since multiple users experienced problems with the download.
It will be announced, when the download is available again!

Danke für den Tipp mit dem WINRAR Entpacker.
Ich musste nur noch das .rar an OF anfügen, entpacken und die üblichen Dateien zum entpackten Verzeichnis hinzukopieren. Läd auch meinen Ostfront Speicherstand der alten Version.

Ich spiele die ersten drei Kampagnen HGN, HGM, HGS im Moment nochmal mit Screenshots der jeweiligen Szenarien durch und teste damit ab jetzt auch Euer aktualisiertes Panzer Corps.

Hallo again!

Pardon my English, I confess I do not understand German. But I have been a great fan of your work since I first downloaded Winterkrieg years ago. And I recently got Ostfront working to some degree.

However, when I have tried to download Ostfront 4.2, it has repeatedly conked out. Invariably the download hangs somewhere between 140 and 350 or so Mb. I shared this information with my German friend (who made the above post) and I was pleased you tried to fix it. But it looks like the file is still not downloading cleanly since it has been uploaded.

Can you please see to it? Or maybe mirror the download somewhere else?

I am sorry for bothering all of you about this.

I unfortunately haven't found a solution yet, since it's kind of hard to reproduce for me, as the download always completes for me.
We had a solution at some point, but since then lost the configuration of the server due to a crash.
We would need to have several things set to fix this:
1) tweak server configuration values
2) have some volunteers (who experience the problem themselves) to check if it's fixed or not
3) time to do several repeats on the prior two steps.

Since I currently lack my part on the third point, and it's much asked for from users that just want to download some cool mod to help the guys from the forum providing the download fixing their system, there was not much progress in the last weeks. Nevertheless, it's a shame we haven't managed to get the download fixed. It's my goal to change that as soon as I can in order to provide the "level of service" our modders and users deserve.

Unfortunately, we can not provide an alternative mirror for the mod and it's not in my right to provide one, since we just (try to) host the mod for it's creators and are not entitled to put it anywhere else.
I'm sorry for the inconveniences...

Thank you kindly for the quick reply, Croaker. And I can certainly understand how defensive people can be about it. For what it's worth, I am downloading it from North America. Though this friend of mine is German, so I'm not sure if it really is jurisdiction that would help.

But for what it's worth, I would be more than happy to be one of the guinea pigs testing the download.

Though on that note: would you be willing to send me the downloaded mod by PM or something?

In any case, it sucks. Sorry to hear it's happened to such a great team of people.

Als "Testdownloader" könnte ich mich auch zur Verfügung stellen, ich hatte in der Vergangenheit ja eh Schwierigkeiten. Von daher - wäre das vielleicht gar nicht so verkehrt.

Ich habe es gestern erfolgreich geladen. Habe einen "schnellen" Internetzugang verwendet.

Zum Spielen habe ich aktuell keine Zeit. Auf die Schnelle ist mir nur aufgefallen, dass Soviet_Engineer_Stalin.png "leer" ist. Da es eine "nopurchase" Einheit ist, verursacht es vermutlich keine Probleme.

DL-Speed war bei ca 870 kb/sec

90 Sekunden wurden für den Download von 600 MB angezeigt.
Rate: 5,8 MB/s
Nach 83 Sekunden 554 MB gings nicht mehr weiter.

Habe es nochmal probiert ... exakt (7 Sekunden vor Schluß) das gleiche Ergebnis.
